2018 Plainfield Fest

Plainfield – The Plainfield Police Department would like to remind all residents and visitors to the Village of Plainfield that Plainfield Fest 2018 will be taking place on Friday, July 20th, Saturday, July 21st and Sunday, July 22nd, 2018. The Fest will be returning to the downtown business district with the carnival again located at Plainfield Central High School.

During Plainfield Fest the following road closures will occur beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 19th, and last until the early morning hours of Monday, July 23rd, 2018:

  • Lockport Street between Illinois Street and James Street will be completely closed to all Lockport Street between Illinois Street and Route 59 will be closed to westbound traffic.
  • Des Plaines Street between Ottawa Street and Main Street will be closed. There will be limited access for residents north of Oak Street.
  • Chicago Street between Illinois Street and Fox River Street will be closed. A checkpoint for Handicapped parking and local permits will be located at Illinois Street and Chicago Street.
  • Fox River Street between Lockport Street and Ottawa Street will be closed. Residents of Fox River Street will have access and on street parking will be limited to permits.

Festival parking is available at Plainfield Central High School. Additional parking is located at the municipal parking lot next to the Plainfield Library on Illinois Street. Handicapped parking will be available on Chicago Street between Illinois Street and Des Plaines Street, Lockport Street west of Fox River Street and Fox River Street south of Lockport Street. Additional parking will also be available at Riverfront Park and at Plainfield Village Hall.

Roads are expected to re-open around 5am on Monday, July 23rd, 2018.

The Plainfield Police Department would like to remind all motorists to anticipate traffic delays and please be aware of the increase in pedestrian traffic in the downtown area.
